There is a fashion brands search platform called Lyst that analyses the behavior of more than 5 million online shoppers every quarter of the current year to determine the hottest and trendiest fashion brands and their products.
Lyst analyzes data from its own search engine and google as well. Lyst takes into account, the engagement statistics, conversion rates and sales worldwide to form its quarterly index.
The battle among fashion brands wages on to take the number one spot. The list of top ten rankings of 2018 is mentioned below.
Italian brand, Prada has switched its position up by one place since Q1 (first quarter of the calendar year). Lyst says that Prada’s reinvention of its signature nylon accessories helped push it back into the top ten position.
The American multinational corporation, Nike has switched its position up by eleven places since Q1. Nike is the only sportswear brand to make it into the top ten. Nike’s shares are at an all-time high after the brand experienced a major sales rebound in North America.
Another Italian brand, Fendi has switched its position up by nine places since Q1. Fendi cashed in on the logomania craze by reinventing its FF “Zucca” monogram.
Italian brand, Versace has switched its position up by twenty-one places since Q1 which is the index’s biggest rise. Lyst says the brand thanks the hit crime show called “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” for its surge, as well as the string of Met Gala looks that stole the red carpet.
Although down by three places since Q1, the French brand, Vetements has managed to remain in the top ten positions.
Dolce & Gabbana
Italian brand, Dolce & Gabbana has switched its position up by three places since Q1. The brand stole the headlines in the last quarter for inspiring a drone assisted fashion show in Saudi Arabia.
French brand, Givenchy has switched its position up by two places since Q1. The brand’s artistic director Claire Waight Keller scored the biggest commission of 2018 when she dressed Meghan Markle for the royal wedding which was watched by 29 million people.
Although down by one place since Q1, the Spanish brand Balenciaga has ensured its position into the top ten. The brand’s ultimate ugly shoe has become ubiquitous at fashion events worldwide and its $850 platform Crocs made into Lyst’s hottest women’s product index for 2018.
Italian brand, Off-White has switched its position up by two places since Q1. According to Lyst, the brand’s collaboration with Converse Chuck Taylor and Nike Air Vapormax have led to its spike in interest.
Italian brand, Gucci has switched its position up by one place since Q1 making into the number one spot of the list. The luxury brand has exploded in popularity in recent months, especially amongst millennial and teen shoppers. Gucci’s parent company, Kering SA reported a 48.7% jump in same store sales during the first quarter of 2018. Gucci is benefiting from a resurgence in ‘90s style and has capitalized with an ad campaign featuring the famous singer, Harry Styles.
